He is not a squirrel nor a hamster; he’s a Yordle from Bandle City. For some people, he is the most loved of all League of Legends champions; and for others, he is the most hated one! Anyhow. Do you think he’s cute? Do you want to draw this little killing machine? Don’t hesitate! Here it is a step by step drawing guide to help you learn how to draw one of the most iconic LOL champions: Teemo.
Don’t forget your drawing tools. A good artist always has the supplies they need to portray their art. When drawing, you will always need pencils, kneaded erasers, and paper. Why don’t you take a look at our products? An artist needs supplies crafted by artists for artists.
Step 1: "Captain Teemo on duty." - The Outline
It is time to begin drawing your own Teemo. You can start by drawing a circle.
Now draw another circle, this one is going to be for Teemo's head.
A third circle will help us outline Teemo’s torso.
To finish the preparations you must sketch in the guidelines for the face.
Now soften up those lines a little more.
And let’s add the outline of the limbs.
Yes, this is roughly the guy we are trying to make, some details will help us approach a little bit to a more decent result of the little dude. Are you looking for a more conventional tutorial? perhaps you would like to check on this: How to draw a rose: a drawing lesson with a step by step guide.
Step 2: "Hut, two, three, four." - Head, Face, and Details
Use the guidelines in the head to draw Teemo’s eyes, nose and mouth.
Teemo is a fuzzy Yordle, don’t ever forget that! Draw those fuzzy cheeks.
Let’s play a little bit with his facial expressions, I think we all know how his face looks most of the time.
What makes Teemo different? His hat. That’s right; without his hat, Teemo is just a boring average Yordle. We can’t allow that. While we’re on it we can use this opportunity to add some other characteristic details.
That hat is missing some important elements, don’t you think? What about Teemo’s ears?
Step 3: "Armed and ready." - Weapons! and other accessories
Teemo is a simple guy with a simple weapon, a blowgun. Yes, this is not the most deadly weapon there is, but boy, he does a lot with it!
Teemo also has other weapons, he’s leaving a bunch of them all around the map! Let’s draw him holding a mushroom with his other hand and his goggles on his hat. A good scout always has their goggles with him them, and so does Teemo.
As we always remark in all of our guides and tutorials, observation is the key when you are drawing something you can see. Usually, we recommend to draw real 3D objects, but this time a picture will have to suffice. Observe and pay attention to details that will help you improve the quality of your drawing. Beware, you don’t want to get overwhelmed with details or charging your drawing too much. Sometimes simple and clean drawings are the best ones.
Awesome drawings look amazing because artists use different techniques to enhance their work. Shading is one of the best techniques you will ever learn, this will make the difference for you. If you wish to know more about shading, just take a look at this: Step by Step Drawing Tutorials: Learn How to Shade Your Drawings.
Ok, let’s get serious and use a softer pencil to remark the outline and make darker lines. While on this step let’s draw some extra detail like Teemo’s fluffy collar.
Step 4: "Never underestimate the power of the Scout's code." - The luggage
You are almost done, you just need to fill in the final details and accessories. Teemo is always carrying a bag with him, maybe that’s where he carries all those mushrooms. Draw the scout plans and maps behind him. He needs those for his strategy.
Teemo is more powerful when he’s unseen. Let’s hide our little champion between the tall grass; others might come in looking for Pokemon but they will receive a little surprise. Also, finish some other details on his belt and boots, and add some other mushrooms around him for extra protection.
Now there’s nothing left to do than add color!
Check all details and add some shading effects if you can. Your little scout is ready to go out on a mission. Don’t get frustrated if you didn’t get the results you were expecting. Drawing is a skill you will develop through practice and there’s no easy way to do it. Practice as much as you want, draw your Teemo with different skins to practice your observation and execution. Sketch as many easy drawings as you can and soon you will notice how much you improved. Teemo will always be the same under the skin, so keep proportions in mind and use guidelines. Use the element of surprise, chase down your opponents; use your blinding darts and bring them down with poison. The best scout from Bandle City has arrived and he is ready to make the Summoner’s Rift his own!
“Teemo rides a thin line between chipper compatriot and unrepentant killer, but there's no one else I'd rather have as a friend” - Tristana.
